WEYMOUTH Town Council is being asked to approve a new social media policy.
The policy will guide the way councillors, council staff and other interested people engage with council matters on social media.
If approved the council will ensure training is provided for members and officers if needed.
However, a report included on the agenda for Wednesday’s town council meeting says there will be no cost involved.
It is also said that ‘an effective social media policy can reduce the risks of legal action’ and help reduce paper usage.
A decision will be made at a meeting of the council tomorrow evening.
