A local shopping initiative saw more than 70 businesses sign up to take part.

The inaugural Bridport Passport campaign from Totally Locally Bridport, which encouraged people to shop locally with independent businesses with the chance to win £50 in vouchers.

Shoppers were invited to collect a stamp for every £10 they spent at a local store, and those who visited eight would complete their passport to enter the draw.

A spokesperson said: "We have been gratefully overwhelmed by businesses and customers alike during our inaugural Bridport Passport.

"Over 70 businesses signed up to take part and the response from our town’s shoppers has been heartwarming.

"Thanks goes out to everyone that participated and with special mention to our winners, Sally Lemsford, Rosie Russel, Jo Millar, Colin Divall and Marian Chinn, who’s completed Passports were drawn on Saturday 4th January and awarding them each a £50 voucher."

"Shortly we will be declaring Bridport as a Totally Locally town, which will be highlighting all of the independent products and services that we offer and lifting our economy and community.

"We are excited to develop the Bridport Passport campaign further and will be launching a recurring campaign later in Spring 2020.

"We are looking forward to our third fiver fest during February, which will last a fortnight, featuring a host a super special offers, all for £5 and to give a great big thank you for supporting our wonderful town."
