THE owners of four dogs stolen by burglars who ripped a gate from its hinges to get to their kennel say the pets are still missing.

As reported, gamekeeper Reece Ronald and his mother-in-law Maggie Flower have called for the safe return of their dogs, which were taken from a property near Shaftesbury on Monday, December 23.

A social media plea for help has been shared tens of thousands of times, with people across the country offering support.

As a result, many reported sightings of the dogs have been made.

A number of people said they had seen three similar-looking spaniels being 'dragged around' at Leeds train station. Reports were made to British Transport Police and the RSPCA.

There have also been claims the dogs are for sale on Gumtree.

However, it has now been confirmed that the dogs are still missing, and no definite sightings have been confirmed.

Mr Ronald has called the loss of the animals “heartbreaking”.

The dogs include two springer spaniels – Holly, who is black and white, and liver and white Bailey.

Long-haired patterdale terrier Norma and five-month-old cocker spaniel puppy Millie were also taken.

The thieves broke into a yard and ripped the kennel gate from its hinges to get to the dogs.

Mr Ronald said the theft has been "awful" and said: "I wouldn't wish this on anyone."

More than two weeks after the dogs were taken, Ms Flower has urged well-wishers to keep sharing the message.

"It's confirmed the dogs weren't the ones spotted at Leeds train station," she said.

"Responses have not gone unnoticed or unappreciated.

"All we can ask is that everyone continues to share their pictures and make your voices heard."

Police have been informed, and officers are investigating the theft.
