Smocking and Dorset Button making workshops are being held at Dorset Centre for the Creative Arts on Poundbury.
Rosalind Atkins is holding a number of spring term workshops beginning on Wednesday, January 22 from 2pm to 4pm with a Beginners Dorset Cross Wheel Button Making Workshop.
Participants will be provided with all the materials necessary to begin creating traditional Dorset Cross Wheel buttons and learn how and when to change colour.
No previous experience is required and the workshop is suitable for all ages, from 8 to 80!
If you can, please bring with you a selection of sewing needles (blunt and pointed) and a pair of small, sharp scissors, but don’t worry if you can’t as these will be available. It costs £20 per person. Book on 01305 889741.
See https://www.rosatkinssmockingdorsetbuttons.co.uk/events for details of other workshops including Advanced Dorset Cross Wheel Buttons and Vintage Style Dorset Poppy Brooches.
