Stay Awake Christian conference returns to Dorchester

Stay Awake – a day of inspiring talks, worship and community will take place on Saturday, February 15 from 10.15am to 7pm.

There will be opportunities to listen to encouraging talks, take part in workshops and join in praise and worship throughout the day, whilst enjoying the company of other Christians.

Between 6pm to 7pm those attending will be given some Papa John’s pizza for free.

Jasmine de Kretser, one of the organisers, said: “Stay Awake has come from listening to God’s calling and trusting in his voice and his prompts. For a long time, I have been wanting to run an event for the local area to unite Christians, to allow us to go deeper with Jesus and to learn more about God’s word and truths. There have been no Godly promptings until recently when this changed and God’s calling became clearer than ever. It will be a day where we can receive Jesus through mass, praise and worship and spoken word. I have put this event in the hands of God and am allowing him to lead us in the right direction.”

The theme of Stay Awake 2020 will be from Revelation 22:17, which says: “The Spirit and the Bride say, ‘come!’ let everyone who listens answer, ‘Come!’ then let all who are thirsty come: all who want it may have the water of life, and have it free.”

Speaking at the conference will be Sister Carino Hodden – a Dominican Sister of St Joseph based in the New Forest in Hampshire.

Revd Dr Russ Parker – former director of the Acorn Christian Healing Foundation and current director of 2Restore will also be talking at the event.

Fin Allen a 19-year-old Catholic studying at the University of Manchester will be discussing how if you choose to follow Jesus you will not look back.

And GP and deacon Jonathan de Kretser and Cherry Clarke of Refresh – The churches of Weymouth and Portland in Action, will be giving talks.
