A large amount of suspected Class A drugs and a quantity of cash have been seized from a property.

It comes after police carried out a stop check of a 50-year-old local man on the Rodwell Trail on Monday afternoon following reports of drug related activity in the area.

He was searched under the Misuse of Drugs Act and he subsequently arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.

A property nearby was then searched and a 20-year-old male from London and a 40-year-old local woman were found at the address and also arrested on suspicion of drugs supply.

A large amount of suspected Class A drugs and a quantity of cash were located within the property.

All three people have since been released under investigation whilst enquires continue.

The London man has also been given bail conditions not to enter Dorset.

A spokesman for Dorset Police said: "Once again, this serves to highlight the importance of the public reporting their concerns to us so we can act to keep Weymouth safe.

"Anyone with information regarding the supply of drugs is asked to contact Dorset Police."
