National fishermen’s charity, the Fishermen’s Mission, is looking for new Trustees.
Chairman, Michael Vlasto says ‘We need Trustees with a range of skills and different life experiences.
Diversity is vital in making sure that the decisions we make are in the best interests of those we seek to help’.
‘We would especially welcome interest from you if you have direct commercial fishing experience,
come from a fishing family or live in a community where fishing is key’.
‘In return we offer a full induction, related training and reimbursable expenses along with the chance to develop new skills
and personal development opportunities. You will have a key role in helping make strategic decisions and the
chance to help shape new and innovative projects. You can be part of developing opportunities to help improve
the health, wellbeing, financial security and work-related safety for fishermen and their families’.
For nearly 140 years the Fishermen’s Mission has provided vital emergency, financial and practical help to all active
and retired fishermen and their families around the whole of the UK. A highly respected Christian charity that looks
to support those who go out to sea to bring back the catch and those who wait for them to return.
