AN 'UNINSURED' driver had his vehicle seized in Weymouth during a police crackdown.

Police said the man did not have a full driving licence and was driving unsupervised.

Officers from Weymouth & Portland Police made the seizure yesterday evening just hours after another driver had his vehicle seized after being spotted 'using a mobile phone'.

A spokesman for the force said: "The driver has been reported for no insurance, driving otherwise in accordance with his driving licence (driving whilst unsupervised on a provisional licence), for having two bald tyres and contravention of a no left turn after turning left from Boot Hill on to Chickerell Road.

"The vehicle has been seized and the male will be off to court in due course."
