An exhibition and consultation on the Watton Village development will launch in the town next month.

The project by Smart Community Projects Ltd, which aims to deliver 235 affordable eco homes in Bridport off St Andrews Road at the base of Watton Hill, will be available for residents to see at the town hall on Friday, February 14 from 5pm to 9pm, February 15 from 10am to 4pm and February 16 from 10am to 4pm.

It’s proposed the development - which aims to help tackle the housing crisis - will include 185 rental homes, 25 shared ownership homes and 25 homes for sale on 79 acres leased from the Colfox family.

A spokesman for the project said: “At 7pm there will be an opening introduction from Ros Kayes, followed by short presentations from the three project directors - Roy Mathisen, Vince Adams and Jonathan Lovett - who will reveal their vision for building a smart community and affordable housing for the Bridport community.

“We look forward to sharing the Watton Village vision with the local community and giving you a chance to learn more and ask questions about this exciting project. Everyone is welcome so please do bring friends and family.”
