BRIDPORT LEISURE CENTRE
A Christmas raffle was held by Bridport Leisure Centre to raise funds for local community day service, Bridport Connect.
Local business were very generous and showed their support by donating a large number of prizes, the top prize being a Bridport Leisure Centre gym extra membership worth £400.
Bridport Connect provides a wide range of activities and opportunities designed to promote independence and improve the lives of people with varying support needs.
The client group includes older people, adults with learning disabilities, adults with physical disabilities and those who have support needs relating to their mental health. Some clients also have complex health needs.
Susan Cosma, Bridport Connect day services officer, said: “We would like to thank all of the local business for their kind donations, it really makes us feel like we are a valued part of the community. We would also like to thank Bridport Leisure Centre for their ongoing support and for making us feel so welcome when we visit for our fitness sessions."
A total of £545 was raised and presented to members of Bridport Connect.
Susan added: “This money will make a huge difference. We will be able to continue with our popular ukulele sessions, it will also provide much needed arts and crafts supplies and contribute to admission fees on days out."
The cheque was presented to staff and service users at the Bridport day centre by Will and Kelly from Bridport Leisure Centre.
