The Army and police have been called to deal with a possible unexploded device.
They were called to the Arne area of Purbeck this morning by a member of the public.
Police received a report just after 11am today that a device had been found near Slepe Farm.
Officers attended the the scene where they liaised with the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) team.
The items have since been deemed safe, according to Dorset Police, and the EOD team are currently in the process of removing it.
A spokesman for Purbeck police said it's 'better to be safe than sorry' when reporting such items.
"Please report anything like this you may find when out and about and keep your distance," they said.
