A man has been arrested in connection with a reported assault in Weymouth.
At around 4.30am on Friday, October 18, it was reported that a 24-year-old man was approached by two men after leaving Actor’s bar in the town. One of the men allegedly hit the victim over the back of the head near to McDonald’s on St Mary Street.
The victim reportedly went to his car, which was parked at the MFA Bowl car park and the offenders got in and ordered him to drive. It was alleged that when he refused, one of the men punched him several times causing injuries to his face and mouth.
It was reported that the victim was then forced into the back seat and the car was driven to Carlton Road South, where he was told to get out and he did.
The car was later found in Southview Road.
Following enquiries by detectives, a 20-year-old man of no fixed abode has been arrested on suspicion of kidnap. He has been released on police bail.
