IT'S one nil to Storm Dennis as sports fixtures in Dorset are called off due to weather.
The Dorchester Sports football match at Avenue Stadium has been cancelled today amid concerns.
"The condition of the roof at the stadium and this wind means that in the interest of everybody’s safety today’s game has been cancelled," a club spokesman said.
Dorchester Town Youth FC has postponed all matches at the Avenue Stadium and Sandringham Sports Centre tomorrow (Sunday).
Dorchester Town FC's away game against Merthyr in the BetVictor Southern Premier South has also been cancelled. The match was due to kick off at 3pm today.
Meanwhile, in the west of the county, Bridport FC said its first team, reserve team and third team games have all been pulled due to a water-logged pitch.
Portland FC has had to cancel its first team game's home match at Weyline Stadium, and the reserve game at Sturminster Newton has also been called off.
