A FILM on the true cost of fashion is being shown at Bridport Arts Centre.

The venue is partnering with Transition Towns Bridport to show The True Cost, a ground-breaking documentary film that pulls back the curtain on an untold story and asks us to consider, who really pays the price for our clothing?

The film, to be screened on Wednesday, February 19 at 7.30pm (tickets £5) is a story about the clothes we wear, the people who make them and the impact the industry is having on our world. The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically.

Six years ago on this week, more than 1,000 textile workers died in the collapse of the Rana Plaza Factory in Bangladesh. The organisation Fashion Revolution mark this with events all over the world. Transition Town Bridport are running a campaign throughout the spring to highlight the environmental and social costs of the Clothing and Fashion Industry.
