Officers investigating an incident of alleged criminal damage in Weymouth are issuing a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to as a possible witness.

At around 11.55pm on Wednesday, February 5, it was reported that a man was kicking over bins in St Thomas Street and had jumped through a glass pane of a bus stop outside Rendezvous.

Officers attended and, following enquiries, a 27-year-old man from Merthyr Tydfil in Wales was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. He has been released under investigation as officers carry out further enquiries.

Sergeant Laura Green, of the Weymouth Volume Crime Team, said: “We are continuing to investigate this incident and I am releasing a CCTV image of a man who may have witnessed it.

“I would like to stress that we are keen to speak to this man purely as a witness and I would urge him, or anyone with information as to his identity, to please contact us.

“I would also like to hear from anyone else who was in the area and may have witnessed the incident.”
