Police officers in Weymouth had to spend part of their shift sweeping up broken glass after young people abused passers-by and smashed bottles on the Rodwell Trail.
Officers were called to the tunnel on the Rodwell Trail last night after receiving reports of young people "behaving anti-socially."
It was reported they were drinking, smashing bottles on the trail and abusing other members of the public.
The youths ran off when police arrived but left lots of broken glass behind, which the officers had to clear up for the safety of other users of the trail.
A spokesman for Weymouth and Portland Police said: "We have been receiving multiple reports about youths in this area and are increasing our patrols as a result.
"We will also be taking appropriate action when we identify any of those involved, including taking them home to their parents."
