STUDLAND’S Knoll Beach has been ranked among the world’s best places for visitors wanting to bare it all.

The beach, or rather the naturist area of the beach, has been named on a list of the world’s best nudist destinations, complied by British travel company Globehunters.

Beaches included are ranked in terms of safety, affordability, average summer temperature, summer sunshine score and more.

Top of the list comes Spain’s Playa de Bolonia beach at Cadiz, Andalucia. But coming in at a respectable 34th place is Studland’s Knoll Beach.

Other homegrown beaches to feature include Brighton’s Naturist Beach and Wild Pear Beach at Ilfracombe, Devon.

A Globehunters spokesman said: “While for some holidaymakers, getting kitted out with the perfect holiday wardrobe is part of the fun, for others, buying a whole new wardrobe is somewhat unnecessary. In fact, travelling nudists may be able to pack a lot lighter than everybody else as they jet off to find the perfect spot to feel free while getting a bit of sun.

“We’ve taken a look at some of the most popular nudist beaches around the world to find out which ones provide the best conditions for nudists, from the average summer temperature to how safe the city is.”

“This has given us our ultimate list of the best beach holidays for nudists.”

Knoll Beach, managed by the National Trust, is one of the best known nudist beaches in the UK.

More than 900 metres of sands have been marked out by the trust where ‘clothing is optional’.

A National Trust spokesman said: “With a history going back as far as the 1920s, naturism has become a distinctive part of the landscape on the Studland peninsular.

“We’re working with partners including Studland Beach Users Action Group, British Naturism and the police to keep Studland safe and family-friendly.

“We ask that naturists and non-naturists alike respect the rights of others and refrain from behaviour likely to cause offence.

“Police and rangers patrol regularly and will be happy to help with any concerns.”

The naturist area is marked with green-topped posts and blue signs.
