A CHIMNEY fire in Weymouth sparked an emergency alert.
Firefighters were called to Old Castle Road, Weymouth to reports of a chimney fire on Saturday morning.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "One fire engine from Weymouth was sent to reports of a chimney fire in Old Castle Road at 10.37am on Saturday morning.
"On arrival the fire had extinguished, but firefighters used a hose reel to dampen down. The incident was left open and reinspected at 12.30pm.
"On reinspection there was no heat left in the chimney and the incident was closed. The stop message was received at 12.36pm."
