A Weymouth guesthouse is to be converted to an apart-hotel – with stays limited to no longer than 90 days.
Dorset Council has agreed the application for the 10-bed Eastney Guesthouse in Longfield Road, which has been run as a B&B with the owners’ accommodation as part of the building.
The business says it is responding to increased demand for self-contained accommodation for longer stays. The conversion will involve internal alterations to provide two 2-bed units at first floor level and three en-suite guestrooms on the second floor with a communal kitchen/lounge area.
A report to Dorset Council says that although stays of up to 90 days are asked for it is likely that the majority of the business will be for much shorter periods.
