THE date for a Weymouth by-election has been announced, after all candidates were confirmed.
At the full Weymouth Town Council meeting in January, residents were told by Weymouth Mayor Graham Winter that Cllr Tim Griffiths had decided to step down from the council for 'personal reasons'.
Cllr Griffiths had served as an independent councillor for the ward of Wyke Regis since being elected in May 2019.
Voters in the Wyke Regis ward were then asked to register their interest in having a by-election by the end of January, with at least ten people needing to request it for the election to be held.
This week, Weymouth Town Council announced that the Wyke Regis by-election for a town councillor will be held on Thursday, March 19.
The three candidates are Becky Blake (Labour); Joanna Dickenson (Conservative); Valerie Graves (Green).
