FIREFIGHTERS rescued a pigeon that got stuck in netting.
The Dorchester crew was called on Wednesday to help the trapped bird, which was ensnared on a roof on South Street.
A spokesman said: "Just before 3pm we were mobilised to calls of a pigeon stuck in netting, on top of a roof in South Street. Upon arrival the crew rescued the pigeon using the 13.5 metre ladder. The crew then took it to Castle Vets on the way back to get a check over, the Vet then confirmed the bird was fine.
"We then released ‘Pidgy’ back into the wilds of Dorchester. At first Pidgy was a little shocked, but afterwards he found his wings and flew off as if nothing had ever happened."
