PORTLAND residents and businesses will transform their street into an outdoor art gallery tonight as 'Window Wanderland' returns to the isle.

The magical three-night event gets locals to decorate their windows and gardens with lights, colours and patterns, creating a stunning spectacle to behold.

This is the third time the unique community event has come to Portland. This year the organisers will launch the Window Wanderland from Easton Square before taking visitors and locals on a magical evening walk, touring the colourful displays that people have created along the way.

Kathy O'Borne, one of the organisers of the event, said: "Window Wanderland is an inclusive community arts event which aims to get people out and about in their neighbourhood. Residents and business owners have decorated their windows to create a magical outdoor gallery.

"This is the third year the event has been organised on Portland by Friends of B-side, a group of volunteers who also support the B-side Festival."

The event is open for anyone to attend and everyone is encouraged to have a go at lighting up their neighbourhood. Windows will be on show all weekend from 6.30pm to 9.30pm each evening. The event will launch from Whitestone's Arts Cafe in Easton tonight at 6.30pm.
