WEYMOUTH students and and teacher who have been tested for coronavirus have all received the all-clear.

Three students from All Saints Academy and one teacher from Budmouth Academy were tested after returning from trips to northern Italy during the February half term.

The All Saints students had returned from a school ski trip in Italy, but were not in any of the lockdown areas.

John Cornish, headteacher of All Saints, said: "The most important message today is that all three of our students who have been tested for coronavirus have had the test returned as negative. This means that there are no confirmed cases of the coronavirus amongst any of our pupils or staff.

"Any other students from our trip who have been assessed by the GP or NHS 111 without displaying symptoms have been told that their symptoms are not coronavirus related and that they should also return to school.

"There is also, therefore, no reason for students not to be in school. Please be aware that only students who are unwell and are following medical advice will be coded as authorised for absence purposes."
