AN 18-YEAR-OLD man has been charged with possessing Class B drugs.
It follows a police operation in Dorchester which saw officers carry out a 'targeted patrol' on Sunday in an area near Sandringham playing fields - a location police say is used for drug misuse by young people.
A person was arrested.
A police spokesman said: "This was as a result of the local residents reporting their concerns about ongoing problems, which allowed us to direct our patrols to the area. It’s the path between the bottom of Monmouth Road that leads to the Sandringham playing fields."
The spokesman added: "We know that young people are openly using drugs in this area, making it uncomfortable for members of the public, who like to walk along that path. We are working with the council to tackle the issue long term. In the short term please keep reporting the issues to us."
