A DEER was reportedly mauled to death by dogs near lakes in East Dorset.
Police are investigating the incident that took place on Saturday afternoon.
It was reported that three dogs were off the lead when they attacked a stag deer before it ended up in the water and drowned.
A Dorset Police spokesperson said: "We received a report at 2.06pm Saturday, March 7, that three dogs were chasing a deer at Longham Lakes.
"It was reported that the deer was subsequently attacked by the dogs before their owner called them back and the deer was then found dead at the location.
"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this stage."
