THE streets of Portland were filled with bright lights and colours as residents transformed the windows of houses and businesses into spectacular art displays.

Window Wanderland returned to the isle for third time and residents were not deterred by the strong winds and heavy downpours brought by Storm Jorge.

The magical three-night event encouraged locals to decorate their windows and gardens with lights, colours and patterns, creating a stunning spectacle to behold.

With lots of people getting involved this year, those walking around the streets were treated to a community-created outdoor art gallery.

This year’s event was organised on Portland by Friends of b-side, a group of volunteers who also support the b-side Festival.

Kathy O’Borne, one of the organisers of the event, said: “Window Wanderland is an inclusive community arts event which aims to get people out and about in their neighbourhood. Residents and business owners have decorated their windows to create a magical outdoor gallery.”

“We had some fantastic windows this year. The launch at Whitestone’s Café in Easton was really well attended and we enjoyed a rather wet and windy tour of the local area.

“It was brilliant to see some new window makers this year- a big thank you to all those who took part- makers and wanderers.”
