A LORRY got stuck on the side of a road after attempting to make way for another vehicle, police said.

The vehicle sunk into the verge near Melbury Abbas yesterday after attempting to make way for another coming up the hill.

No one was hurt in the incident.

A police spokesman said: "A change from getting stuck in Melbury Abbas, this artic sunk onto the verge to make way for another coming uphill. No injuries or drama and when the recovery truck arrives the road will be closed for about 10 mins."

The roads around Melbury Abbas are notoriously difficult for lorries to traverse.
