Avenues Q is no ordinary puppet show and it’s coming to town.

The acclaimed Broadway musical, which includes adult themes, will be performed at Axminster Guildhall at the end of this month.

The production, which is directed by Jodie Glover, brings the Sesame Street-esque puppet world crashing into reality with the human world.

She said: “It’s surprising how much an audience believes in these puppet characters even though you’re standing right there.

“These puppets come to life and when they say vulgar or ridiculous things, it’s just gold.”

Expect some laughs as the show is the brainchild of Robert Lopez who worked on the hit musical The Book of Mormon, and also wrote the famous song Let It Go from Frozen.

It’s therefore no mystery why the show went on to win three Tony Awards for best musical, best score and best book.

The show will be performed by Axminster Musical Theatre on Tuesday, March 31 and from Thursday, April 2 to Saturday, April 4 at 7.30pm. There will also be a matinee performance on the Saturday at 2.30pm.

Tickets are available from axmt.co.uk or by calling 01297 33595.
