Work has started on an indoor skate park in the town and it is well on its way to be usable by next month.

Rob Ridge and Dominic Brown, the makers of the original Trick Factory skate park at St Michael’s Trading Estate that closed in 2016, are leading a project to bring 2020 Skate and Ride to Gore Cross Business Park.

Supporters and former users of the Trick Factory have been busy building ramps and getting the indoor skate park ready for opening.

Rob said: “We are well into construction of the proposed layout with a view of making the facility usable in early April.

“We would like to thank all donators thus far, from individuals to businesses, who have invested in the 2020 Skate and Ride project.

“It is such a good feeling to share the palpable excitement we are all feeling towards getting this all-weather facility up and running.”

The facility has received a wealth of support with a crowdfunder campaign already raising more than £26,000 of a £50,000 target after being launched in January.

A number of rewards are available for those who donate to the cause. This can be done at crowdfunder.co.uk/bridport-indoor-skate-park

This facility is separate from plans to develop a skate park at Bridport bus station, with organisers giving its support to 2020 Skate and Ride
