Morrisons is joining other major supermarkets and introducing special shopping hours for NHS staff.

They will have an NHS hour at all stores at the beginning of every day, Monday to Saturday, so NHS workers can shop for groceries for themselves and their families.

This will be from 7am to 8am and staff will be on the door to let staff with an NHS badge in.

New opening hours for all other customers are 8am to 8pm, Monday to Saturday. On Sundays they will be open as usual.

Sainsbury's has introduced a golden shopping hour for NHS and social care workers.

From next week health and care staff will be able to shop at Sainsbury's between 8am and 9am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, alongside elderly and vulnerable shoppers.

Tesco is introducing a special shopping hour from Sunday for its workers and NHS staff.

Those eligible will be invited to browse an hour before traditional shop opening.

It's part of a range of measures the store has introduces to try and stop panic-buying and ensure there is enough food for everybody left on the shelves.

Marks and Spencer has also introduced a special shopping hour for NHS workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

M&S announced it will give NHS and emergency service workers the first hour of every Tuesday and Friday morning to buy their essentials - after similar measures were introduced for the elderly and vulnerable.
