I CYCLE along the Esplanade to Weymouth about three times a week.

I am 79 years old this year, always ring my bell, slow down for children and dogs, say good morning and thank you, I hope I behave respectfully and politely.

A few weeks ago I was shouted at and told to get off the Esplanade. Last week, a gentleman swore at me and told me to cycle on the road. I didn't retaliate, just smiled and peddled on my way.

I know parts of the Esplanade are off limits (during the summer I push my bike and walk) but please don't be so rude to cyclists who obey the law and try to act politely.

I shall continue to wave and say good morning to everyone I meet.
