Fire chiefs are warning on controlled burns
FIRE chiefs are asking all land managers to not undertake prescribed or controlled burns unless it is absolutely necessary to minimise the potential for wildfires.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "At this time of year we usually see an increase in wildfires.
"These have many causes, both deliberate and accidental. If you are taking your daily exercise on any heathland or open spaces, please keep your eyes peeled.
"Please help us as we deal with additional pressures & challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic."
