Coronavirus: Total number of UK deaths jumps to 578
There's been a sharp increase in the number of deaths in the UK as a result of coronavirus.
As of 9am today (Thursday), a total of 104,866 people have been tested, of which, 11,658 were confirmed positive.
As of 5pm last night, 578 patients in the UK who tested positive for Covid-19 have died.
The figure for the previous day was 465.
It comes as nine new cases are confirmed in Dorset.
