PARENTS, staff and children at a village school celebrated the opening of a new unit at an open day.
The new foundation base at Winterbourne Valley First School opened up for the event to show visitors just what was available.
Childcare supervisor Sharon Pugh said: "We are a new foundation base, which consists of a reception class and pre-school.
"Children start at the pre-school from two years and nine months and they get a taste of what school life is like.
"We held the open morning to show people that we are here. It went very well. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves."
