'Not All Heroes Wear Capes' is the message being spread by a collection of Weymouth and Bridport-based gyms for a fundraiser.

Its the brainchild of three gyms, First Class Fitness, New Body Fitness and Luke Hayter Fitness.

To raise funds for Dorset County Hospital, they will be hosting a fun home workout over the Zoom video conferencing app. Participants are encouraged to work out in superhero themed attire, if possible.

The hour long event will take place at 6.45pm tomorrow, finishing in time for the weekly clap for the NHS.

More than 300 people from the three health and fitness groups’ communities are expected to take part but the event organisers are also encouraging by members of public to join in. They are hoping to raise more than £1,500.

Marcus Biles, Director at First Class Fitness, said: “As small local community based businesses, it’s important we do all we can to support the Dorset County Hospital and NHS.

“Additionally, it’s important people keep themselves fit and healthy during isolation. Hopefully this event will not only raise money, but also motivate and inspire people to value their wellbeing during this pandemic.”

Those wishing to take part need only to download the Zoom Cloud Meetings app. The meeting ID for the event is 335 119 0215 and password is 12345.
