A woman was injured when a car left a road and went into a hedge.

As reported, it happened on the A31 at Sturminster Marshall on Sunday afternoon - and Dorset Police have now revealed more details.

Police said the driver, a woman in her 60s, was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to hospital. She remains in hospital where she is being treated for a 'suspected serious injury'.

No other vehicles were involved.

The road was closed eastbound at the Roundhouse roundabout while emergency services attended.

Traffic built up in the area and a diversion was put in place by Highways England which looks after the A31.
