A family has been fined and told to go home after 'travelling a long way' to camp overnight at a Dorset beauty spot.
Firefighters from Swanage Fire Station were called to reports of a small fire at Shell Bay, Studland yesterday morning and found the holidaymakers.
Crews used buckets of water to extinguish a barbecue.
A spokesman for Swanage Fire Station said: "We found a family that had travelled a long way, camped overnight and were having a camp fire.
"With the help of the police they were told to pack up, go home and fines issued. Please stay home."
A spokesman for Purbeck Police said: "Swanage NPT were notified of a fire on Studland Beach this morning where we located a family who had been camping overnight.
"We were assisted by our colleagues from Swanage Fire Station."
