A fire involving around 20 tonnes of manure and wood chippings was tackled by firefighters for a second time in less than a week at the same location.
Crews from Sherborne Fire Station were called to the fire at Redhole Lane at 4.20pm yesterday (Saturday). They were previously called there on May 5.
A spokesman for Sherborne Fire Station said: "One appliance from Sherborne was mobilised to a fire in the open in North Sherborne.
"Crews investigated and found a heap containing approximately 20 tonnes of manure, peat and wood chippings.
"Crews used a hose reel jet and two hay drags and damped down the surrounding ground before leaving. A mechanical digger was also used to separate and damp down the large mound."
