Police are appealing for the public's help after a man went missing from west Dorset.

Ian O’Mahoney, aged 45, had been staying at an address in Charmouth and left on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. It is believed he got on a train at Axminster at around 1.30pm that day, travelling in the direction of Southampton.

Ian spoke to his family on the telephone on Tuesday, April 28, 2020 and was believed to be in the Southampton area but they have not heard from him since.

He is described as white, around six feet tall and of slim build with short dark brown hair and wears glasses.

When he was last seen he was wearing a short-sleeved black polo shirt, dark blue jeans and blue Adidas trainers and was carrying a holdall bag believed to contain clothes.

Inspector Matt Chutter, of Dorset Police, said: “It is nearly a month since Ian was last seen by his family and we are keen to locate him to make sure he is safe and well.

“I would urge anyone with information as to his whereabouts, or who sees a man matching the description given, to please contact us.

“Finally, I would appeal directly to Ian if you see this to please make contact with us or your family and let us know where you are so we can ensure that you are all right.”
