An avid fundraiser’s annual charity auction is still planned to go ahead.

Roz Copson holds an auction at The Ropemakers pub and the fourth one is expected to take place later this year.

She said: “During the coronavirus pandemic, a lot of fundraising is going on. Some people are going to extraordinary lengths to do that, that is to be congratulated, however big or small the amount and from all walks of life.

“Hopefully we can start easing up on the lockdown situation, only after we are given that instruction. So, thinking ahead, the fourth annual charity auction, I am hoping, is to be on Sunday, November 15 at The Ropemakers pub. This I have talked over with my friends and colleagues at The Living Tree cancer group and Stepping Out cancer rehab exercise group. I put to them that this year the money we raise will go to the Joseph Weld Hospice.

“It is a wonderful facility we have on our doorstep and those who know of its great work will also know it is in even greater need of financial support. Not only does it provide end of life care and respite care, this in turn gives comfort and eases the anxieties of relatives and friends alike.

Please keep the date free in your diaries.”
