WITNESSES are being asked to come forward after a motorcyclist in his 50s was seriously injured in a crash on Weymouth's Preston Beach Road.

Police say the incident took place on the B3155 Preston Road at the junction with the turning to Weymouth Household Recycling Centre at around 10.30am on Thursday May 21.

The collision involved a black Volkswagen Golf and a white Honda motorcycle. The rider of the motorcycle, a man from Portland aged in his 50s, was taken to hospital for treatment by the ambulance service.

Police say his injuries were initially thought to be minor, but it has now been established that he sustained a broken pelvis.

officers are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage to come forward.

Police Constable Andy Dickinson, of Weymouth police, said: “We are carrying out a full investigation into this collision, which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

“I am appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time and witnessed the collision to please get in touch.

“I would also like to hear from any motorists who may have relevant dashcam footage.”
