FIRE engines have rushed to the scene of a blaze on Portland this afternoon.
Two crews from Portland Fire Station were called to the Weston area of the island following reports of a shed fire.
However upon arrival, firefighters were met with two sheds and a wood storage in flames - all were 'well alight', according to the brigade.
The situation was exacerbated by the current dry spell, causing extra work for crews at the scene of the incident.
A spokesman for Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "The fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets and raking equipment.
"Crews remained on the scene for some time damping hot spots due to the current hot weather we are having."
