Members of Bridport U3A are not letting the lock down stop them from enjoying themselves.
The group is open for business and is still active, continuing with newly developed ‘at home’ groups. These use a mix of email, Zoom, YouTube and mean members can continue their meetings.
Some groups are long established, and others have been created for the new circumstances we find ourselves in. These include birdwatching, broadcasting, world faiths, puzzles for fun, limericks/poetry group, sport starved, memories of Bridport, classical music, opera, art history and creative writing.
More details of the groups are available at bridportu3a.org.uk/groups
A spokesman for the group said that recent U3A national research, Learning Not Lonely, demonstrated the impact of the U3A movement on wellbeing in later life in terms of confidence, combatting loneliness, feeling supported in new communities, learning new skills and feeling valued and enjoying life.
