POLICe are asking the public across Dorset help find a man who has gone missing from his home.

At 9.15pm on Thursday, June 4, Dorset Police received a report raising concern for the welfare of Ian McInerney, aged 59, who had last been seen at his home address in Sunnyhill Roa,d Bournemouth, at around 2.20pm that afternoon.

Ian, who left home on foot, is described as white, six feet tall and of large build with very short hair and a slight scar on his right cheek. He was wearing a blue denim shirt, green tweed jacket, dark grey jogging bottoms and black shoes.

Chief Inspector Steve Yeoman, of Dorset Police, said: “Ian has a number of medical conditions and his mobility is limited so we are becoming increasingly concerned for his welfare.

“We have been carrying out searches in the area of his home address and I would appeal to anyone with information as to his whereabouts, or who sees a man matching the description given, to please contact us immediately. The only image we have been able to obtain of Ian at this stage is around 15 years old so his appearance has altered somewhat since it was taken.

“Finally, I would make a direct plea to Ian if you see this appeal to please make contact with us or your family so that we can make sure you are safe and well.”

Anyone with information or knowledge as to Ian’s whereabouts is asked to contact Dorset Police at www.dorset.police.uk, via email 101@dorset.pnn.police.uk or by calling 101, quoting incident number 4:452.
