A group hoping to camp on Dorset's coast last night were sent home by police.

Purbeck Police were patrolling Bramble Bush Bay when they came across the campers.

A spokesman for Purbeck Police said: "We have again been in Studland targeting a range of issues. Whilst in the area we conducted foot patrols of Bramble Bush Bay which was all clear of anyone camping or using barbecues.

"We did however locate a group of males who had just arrived with the intention of camping who were swiftly educated that they would not be and were sent home.

"Once again there were a few parking issues for us to sort and spoke to several groups who were enjoying Studland in the way it should be.

"We then conducted some joint patrols with Swanage Coastguard and even found the ideal spot for a photo.

"We will continue to patrol heathland areas in Purbeck whilst the fire risk remains so high."
