Concerns for a man's welfare prompted a major police search.
Purbeck police, assisted by officers from Poole, the traffic unit, firearms, dog unit and the NPAS helicopter carried out a search in the Corfe Castle area yesterday evening following reports of concern for a man in the area who may have been in distress.
Following an extensive search the man was found safely by officers and left in the care of paramedics.
