LULWORTH Castle is due to host two outdoor movie events later this summer for the first time since the coronavirus outbreak.

The 17th century castle will screen the 2019 blockbuster Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker on Saturday, August 12 and the Elton John biopic Rocketman the following day on Sunday, August 13.

Both screenings of the films, courtesy of open-air cinema company The Luna Cinema, will start at 8.45pm with doors opening at 7.15pm.

In a statement on the company’s website, The Luna Cinema said: “As ever, the safety of our customers and staff is of paramount importance to us. We continue to monitor the situation closely and follow the official government advice.

“There is currently no advice to suggest we will not be able to go ahead with our events around the UK, and our preparations are well underway for the 2020 season.

“At this stage, all of our screenings will go ahead as planned and any changes to this will be communicated with our customers as the situation unfolds.”

The Luna Cinema are offering a new book with confidence guarantee, where customers who can’t attend a screening due to health concerns can transfer their ticket to any other screening in the season free of charge.
