Dorset firefighters were sent across the border after a garden shed went up in flames in Somerset.

Two crews from Sherborne were called to assist Devon and Somerset Fire Control in Henstridge at about 11.15pm last night (Sunday).

As Fire control gathered more details, it was confirmed that only one appliance was required and Sherborne’s second was stood down.

Access to the fire was via a narrow lane to an allotment behind a row of domestic properties. Crews quickly got to work using a hose reel jet to extinguish the remains of a garden shed and dampen down the surrounding area.
