Residents have been asked to think about emergency service vehicles when parking their cars, after a fire engine struggled to get to an incident.

Firefighters from Sherborne Fire Station were called after an alarm was set off at a local home at about 10am this morning.

The crew carried out an inspection and confirmed it was a false alarm, but the crew ran into some difficulty because of poor parking, as shown in the picture above.

A spokesman for Sherborne Fire Station said: "Please think about your parking - leave enough room for a fire engine to get through."
