A man has been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a block of flats.
Officers investigating a blaze at Signal House at Bitter End, Dorchester, have arrested a 42-year-old man from Dorchester on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.
Emergency services were called to the five-storey building shortly after 4am on Monday.
The surrounding roads were closed to allow emergency services to deal with the incident and reopened at around 7.30am.
The building was also evacuated as a precaution.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Following enquiries, a man from was arrested. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
Detectives are continuing to appeal for any witnesses or anyone who may have information to assist the investigation to come forward.
